Canape functions are a great option for weddings and corporate events as they encourage mingling amongst guests and usually involve a variety of food options (therefore catering to the tastes of all guests) If the entire function is to be cocktail style 8-10 selections are recommended (providing 16-20 pieces of food per guest). Check to ensure the quality of each item you order for each guest - some caterers charge at a per piece rate, i.e 10 selections = 10 pieces of food per person. Many caterers offer the option of more substantial or 'fork food' menu items, these dishes are usually larger and more filling. If 2 fork food dishes are ordered as part of the entire event menu then 5-6 canape selections to accompany would be sufficient as a meal replacement. If canapes are served as a starter, i.e before a main meal or buffet, 3 selections are usually sufficient. Providing some food on guest arrival and whilst drinks are being served is always a good idea. |

On Sydney's Northern Beaches the most popular Surf Clubs to hold a wedding at would be Narra Beach Function Centre (Narrabeen), Freshwater SLSC (Freshwater), Bilgola Beach SLSC. With each of these venues ceremonies are commonly held on the grassed area nearby with wooden chairs, red carpet and Bali flags. Another popular location is Manly Yacht Club with views across Manly Wharf and the Harbour. Spectacular at night with the lights across the water. |
